Bizarre contract from Pyrenees club includes a £30 bonus for every red card Ben Arfa causes
HATEM BEN ARFA’S turbulent career may be about to take him to the Pyrenees with a £700-a-month contract and bonuses for getting players sent off.
Ben Arfa, who made a name for himself at Newcastle United, is set to become a free agent this summer with Paris Saint-Germain not renewing his contract.
According to French radio station RMC, German club Borussia Dortmund are looking to sign the 31-year-old winger on a free.
But they face some surprise competition.
Ben Arfa, Spanish newspaper AS say, is currently in the Pyrenees playing with an amateur club called U.S Castetis-Gouze.
The 31-year-old has been offered a contract from the club based in the French mountains, and not one he’ll have been expecting.
It offers the France international £700-a-month as well as bonuses which include £18 per goal and £27 for getting an opposition player sent off.
Ben Arfa didn’t make a single appearance for PSG last season after being ostracised by the club for reasons that remain unknown.
Before joining boyhood club PSG in 2016, he had earned a call-up to the France team having scored 17 goals in 34 games in Ligue 1 for Nice.
