LET THEM IN

The German was always fierce on the pitch and hasn’t lost a drop of it

This is the last thing Petr Cech needs.

With the goalkeeper facing widespread criticism as Arsenal’s number one, Jens Lehmann has just saved three penalties in a row.

It happened today at the Emirates as a Real Madrid XI visited and Unai Emery must have been wondering if he could still do a job.

And he doesn’t need any help zipping up his coat

The only little problem is that it wasn’t against any of the Madrid legends, but against a bunch of children in a pre-match exhibition.

In what was likely the teenagers dream moment, they stepped up to take a spot-kick against an Arsenal legend, on the Emirates turf in front of a crowd.

However, just like he was during his playing career, Jens Lehmann is uber-competitive and instead of letting them score past him he ruthlessly did he best to save every one.

As you can see, Lehmann looks like he is preparing to face a shot from a fellow professional in a pressure-cooker moment and then proceeds to leap like a cat and stop the ball.

It was made worse by the fact that the teenagers had been invited by a charity project between Centrepoint Uk and the Arsenal Foundation.

Just switch it off for five seconds Jens.

When the game started it turns out Lehmann is actually in pretty good nick for for a 48-year-old.

In trademark Lehmann fashion he flew out to make himself as big as possible and pulled off a smart save.

Arsenal’s legends team included the likes of Tomas Rosicky, Luis Boa Morte and Bobby Pires while Claude Makalele, Fernando Morientes and Alvaro Arbeloa all turned out for Los Blancos.

As if all of that wasn’t enough for one day, Lehmann then stepped up to take the winning penalty.

It’s never boring with the fiery German around that’s for sure.
