To herald the arrival of the latest MLS team, James Corden rounded up a team of Late Late Show staff for a special friendly match against Los Angeles FC.

LAFC are coached by Bob Bradley and number Mexican international striker Carlos Vela and former Penarol forward Diego Rossi among their midst.

As it turns out, The Late Late Show football team are ever so slightly less… professional.

Not many teams come back from a 7-0 half-time deficit but Cordon’s ingenious second-half tactical switches — huddling around the ball, literally moving the goalposts, etc. — definitely seemed to at least stem the deluge.

All in all, a 13-1 defeat against a pro MLS outfit isn’t overly embarrassing for a team of absolute beginners.
