Four goals against one of the best teams in Ligue 1? Easy.

How good do you have to be to outshine the most expensive player on the planet at one of the world’s biggest clubs?

Probably about as good as a 19-year-old World Cup winner who is the most pricey teenager in the world.

This is Kylian Mbappe’s world, we are all just living in it.

[Insert Mbappe carrying Neymar joke here]

If you haven’t read by now, Mbappe bagged himself four goals in 13 minutes against Lyon last night as he bolstered his reputation as the most exciting player in world football.

His honours also included being the heir to the original Ronaldo and the all-but-guaranteed next winner of the Ballon d’Or not named Lionel or Cristiano.

Lyon are one of the best teams in Ligue 1, starting the weekend just two points off second place, but after Neymar opened the scoring in the ninth minute, PSG switched on the Mbappe show.

Each one of his strikes was a beautiful cocktail of precision, pace and ridiculous prowess.

In less than a quarter of an hour Mbappe had put in a devastating display to rock Lyon from a narrow 1-0 defeat to staring down the barrel of a 5-0 hammering.

13 minutes to add four goals to his tally for the season and put himself level with Neymar for eight league goals for the season.

In that second half blitz Mbappe doubled his tally for the season and here are seven of the best things we could think of that he outscored in just over 10 minutes.

Not sure who is enjoying this more

In 13 minutes Mbappe scored more league goals than…

  • Real Madrid have managed in their last FIVE league games

  • Christian Benteke scored for Crystal Palace last season

  • Saido Berahino over the last three years

  • Frosinone have managed all season in Serie A

  • Nicklas Bendtner managed in his last season at Arsenal

The moral of this story is to accept that Mbappe is a special talent and secondly never try to compare yourself to a 19-year-old wonderkid.

Oh, and thirdly to actually score goals.
