Don’t doubt him

So his virtuoso display for his country against Mexico last night will go some way to quashing the doubters.

Suarez scored twice in the 4-1 win in Texas, featuring an audacious panenka penalty and a pinpoint 25-yard free kick in the first half.

But was the best was yet to come.

In the second half, Suarez turned provider in the most brilliant way for Gaston Pereiro.

A long cross was floated over the top of the Mexico defence and fell for Suarez who controlled it instantly.

He then dug out an impudent cross with a rabona flick, setting up Pereiro perfectly to head past Guillermo Ochoa in the Mexico goal.

It was a moment of magic and the Uruguayan players were quick to acknowledge Suarez for his role.

A timely reminder… he’s still got it.
