Angel Di Maria hopes that Paris Saint-Germain will be his final European club before he returns to Argentina to finish his career.
Di Maria, 30, is into the final 12 months of his contract at PSG but told TF1 that an announcement regarding a potential extension will be made soon and confirmed his desire to remain in the French capital.
“I am very happy in Paris,” the Argentina international said. “Simply wait and see what happens — the club knows what I want, and I know what the club wants.
“I would like to stay here for a bit longer. I hope that PSG will be my last European club before I go back to Argentina to finish my career, which I have always said that I will do.”
Di Maria, who has also played for Real Madrid, Manchester United and Benfica in Europe, said PSG possess the best attack on the continent right now — despite losing 3-2 to Liverpool in their Champions League Group C opener.
“Criticism after a match like this is normal,” he said. “During this match, we were not at 100 percent — if this team was at 100 percent, we would have had a real chance of winning.
“Kylian [Mbappe], Edinson [Cavani] and Neymar, truly, for me, it is the best attack in Europe.”
PSG are back in Champions League action this week with Crvena Zvezda the visitors in the second round of fixtures.
