Everyone’s banging on about who they’re picking for their fantasy football team at the moment.
Even the winners of Love Island are getting in on the act, with Jack Fincham and Dani Dyer each picking their own Dream Team line-ups ahead of the new season.
But if you think picking a season-long line-up feels like a daunting task, then why not get involved with Dream Team Weekender instead?

All you need to do is pick SEVEN players from the Premier League’s Saturday and Sunday games on a weekly basis, with no transfer budget and no limit to the number of players you can pick from one club.

Now, if you’re new to the game then don’t worry, because we’re willing to give you three top tips to help get you started.
We’re too good to you, aren’t we?
1 Study the weekend’s fixtures and pick a back-line from one club
As we’ve mentioned, you need to pick a line-up of SEVEN players for Weekender.
That means your line-up will always be in 1-2-2-2.
So to start with, the fantasy football word on the street is to pick goal-scoring defenders, right?
Well, actually, we’d advise you to go for a goalkeeper and defensive duo from the same club who can keep you a clean sheet.
With the chances of one club keeping a clean sheet obviously much higher than multiple clubs doing so, we think starting out with a back-line that can keep the goals out is a solid base for a successful weekend.
2 Pick a wildcard
We’ve always tried to stand out from the crowd, even when it comes to fantasy football.
And sometimes, we’ve found picking one player who’s a bit different to the rest in your Weekender side can be the key to success.
After all, the most popular players – such as Harry Kane and Mohamed Salah – regularly feature in everyone’s Weekender side.
Need an example?
Well, last season, one player took a gamble on selecting the usually goal-shy Andre Gray in his Weekender side, on his way to winning the £10k prize.
3 Get your team in early
You know how the old saying goes, don’t you?
“The early bird enters Dream Team Weekender and wins the jackpot”.
Umm, well something like that, anyway.
Did you know that it’s important to act fast when getting your Weekender team in, timing’s very much a factor when it comes to deciding the winner at the end of every weekend.
That’s because it’s highly likely that the highest points scored will be a tie, particularly if people are picking the exact same players.
In this scenario, the jackpot goes to the manager who entered their team first – as that’s the only fair differential.
You’re taking a risk yes, but our advice would be get your Weekender team in on the Monday well in advance.
